Hello.. I'm Rosie

I’m the founder of Drama Club Salisbury, Make & Create, and Make, Create, Perform & Grow, a collection of drama and creative clubs built on care, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with children.

As a qualified nurse, Ofsted-registered childcare provider, and mum of two, I understand how important it is to know your child is in safe, nurturing hands. That’s why everything I offer is built around high standards, imagination and fun!

How It Started

When I couldn’t find a high-quality, child-focused, inclusive, joy filled and inspiring drama club for my daughter Alice, I decided to created one in August 2024.

We began with just six children and within 8 short months the word got around and it grew to 27 young performers and put on our second production: Robin & the Sherwood Hoodies, hosted at Chafyn Grove Performance Hall in July 2025! It was a huge success, and the development and growth of the members was inspiring to see and the feedback so humbling.  This September I have expanded to do more groups and we are all so excited to be working towards our next Show "Mystery at Magpie Manor" in March 2026!

I also run at Chafyn Grove the Pre-prep after school drama club for the Years 1's and 2's, which is running for it's second year.

In February 2025, I became a registered LAMDA teacher.  LAMDA exams (Speech and drama qualifications - LONDON ACADAMY OF MUSIC AND DRAMATIC ART) are readily available as extra-curricular activities in private schools and I feel passionately about inclusivity and access to these great stretching opportunities for children.  So I reached out to Ms Windross at Gomeldon Primary School  (Alice's Head teacher at the time) to see if she was interested. She was!

The classes have since grown to Pitton Primary school and I now have over 35 students across Gomeldon and Pitton.

I submitted the children for their first LAMDA exams which they took in July 2025, and each and every child achieved the highest banding - a Distinction of 80% and above.  Wonderful results for us all!

A New Direction – Bringing Creativity to Life

The role play workshops started from a session at my Tuesday Drama Club when we did a 'real world skill practice' session.  I gave the children play coins and some hats and they had such a great time playing shops and cafe's.

The aim of the session initially was to practice 'meets and greets' and eye contact in a safe environment with the aim to build confidence... But afterwards I was reflecting on it and I had noticed that the children were wanting to read menus, write signs and do maths in their games and absolutely loved the whole thing. This sparked my interest in the topic and I started reading a lot of papers on childhood development and realised the huge benefits to unrestricted, child-led real world role-play games.  I decided I was therefore going to base my holiday clubs and do role-play workshops around this concept because in a world filled with devices, structured sports and commercial holiday activities, these were special and unique opportunities that are hugely beneficial for children.  It started with a workshop "Adopt a dog Teddy" and then has grown from there. Again, the feedback I receive from parents about how much their children enjoy it... including children who are neurodiverse, or who feel like they "don't fit in" or "enjoy" school but then will willingly practice all those skills at my workshops and develop all of those social skills - is so heartening.

I have adapted these role-play scenarios for Birthday Parties now also which are proving hugely popular.

Registered. Qualified. Trusted.

To provide these longer workshops and holiday clubs, I applied for Ofsted registration.  A prestigious and nationally recognised qualification with high expectations for care, safeguarding, and learning.  I have also embarked on a play therapist qualification. So watch this space!

Ofsted registration means that I can now confidently deliver extended sessions, accept childcare vouchers and tax free childcare, and offer parents the assurance that their children are in the care of a trained, experienced professional as well as a drama and creative enthusiast!

What I Believe

Drama Club Salisbury has my heart, and at the heart of everything I do with it is one clear purpose:

To create joyful and enriching experiences.

Where children are welcomed just as they are and feel fully supported with warmth, encouragement and care.

Thank you for reading and I hope to meet you soon!
